Everyone was running late that morning because of traffic from an accident in Baltimore. But Chrisy was unfazed. Even though the schedule was about an hour behind, she’s so easygoing that calm pervaded her. And if this was her demeanor on her wedding day, then her 3rd grade students are certainly lucky to have her as their teacher throughout the school year.
When Gary and his groomsmen, also stuck in the same traffic, finally arrived, it was all smiles, jokes and laughter. After getting dressed they relaxed with a drink, still trying to figure out how to fold the unbelievably large pocket square. One groomsman swooped it like stuffing tissue paper in a gift bag, and everyone broke into laughter as it somehow seemed to look good.
As I walked with Gary to the location for the first look, I asked how he felt. All smiles and lighthearted, he replied that he was surprisingly not as nervous as he thought he would be. But when Chrisy came out, and he saw her for the first time, tears welled up in his eyes and he said to her, “I didn’t think I was going to cry!” as he took in the sight of his beautiful bride.
And that was the essence of the day – easygoing, fun, and filled with love.
Katie and her bridesmaids got ready at the newly renovated Elkridge Club. This venue was beautiful before, but it looks incredible now.
Loved her blue Kate Spade’s!
That ring!
Chrisy, you are beautiful – inside and out!
Loved the polka dot bow tie and kelly green pants.
Chrisy gifted her bridesmaids these beautiful Kate Spade bracelets, with a note reading, “Thank you for helping me tie the knot!” So perfect.
She wasn’t interested in completing her walk down the aisle when she spotted her mom in the pew. I adore flower girls and ring bearers!
Chrisy told me she doesn’t really like a lot of attention on her, and that when she gets nervous she does something silly to break the tension. In this case, it was an unscripted high five after their vows. As laughter filled Marikle Chapel, this quickly became my most favorite ceremony ever!
I love how the trees seem to form a heart around these two.
