Salamander Resort Wedding: Teresa + Scott

Teresa and Scott’s wedding was designed around their shared love of wine, with their ceremony being one of the most beautiful I have had the pleasure of witnessing (more details on that below!).  Everything for their big day was uniquely them, and pulled together perfectly by the incredible Jennifer of Something Fabulous.  Teresa and Scott walked down the aisle to Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” and the lyrics couldn’t be any more breathtaking…

Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I’m afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone,
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.

One step closer

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling, don’t be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What’s standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this

One step closer

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling, don’t be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more…

It was a damp, cold day, but thankfully the warm and inviting indoor spaces at the new Salamader Resort provided a luxurious backdrop for portraits.

Teresa and Scott had a wine reception before their ceremony, where guests could do wine tastings at different tables.  And in lieu of a traditional guest book, they asked their guests to sign wine corks.

Teresa, you looked stunning in that gorgeous dress!

Their ceremony was set up as a circle of chairs, and they asked honored guests to speak on five different facets of life:  Family, Work, Passions, Children, and Love & Marriage.

For Passions, a single pink rose would be placed into the vase with a dozen white roses.

The speeches were filled with much laughter and many tears…

Salamander, a recently opened luxury resort in Middleburg, has world class food and impeccable service.  From my first interaction with the front desk, to the alert and accommodating serving staff, to meeting catering director Robin Strickland, I was nothing short of impressed.

A glass of champagne to greet their family and friends after the ceremony…

As Teresa and Scott began their Thank You’s, they began with those who helped make their special day possible.  Rarely on the list of those thanked at the reception, I was in a state of humble shock as they mentioned me, their photographer, as well.  Their sweet thanks is a true testament to just how kind and thoughtful these two are.

Thank you, Teresa and Scott, for allowing me to capture such a beautiful, perfect and intimate day in your lives.  It was truly a pleasure getting to know you and being a witness to the deep and meaningful relationships you hold near and dear to you.
