Scottish Rite Temple Wedding: Michelle + Sergio

It was a day of tradition.  Wedding traditions and cultural traditions.  There was so much meaning threaded throughout the day, weaving a continuous tapestry of memories that would continue on through generations.  Michelle’s Italian-Portuguese heritage and Sergio’s Portuguese heritage came together in a celebration of 250 family and friends on a beautiful fall day in Baltimore.

I started with Michelle at her parents’ home in Perry Hall, MD.  Here, her mother and her maid of honor secure the veil her mother wore on her own wedding day.

A moment shared between Michelle and her mother…

Dad seeing his beautiful daughter for the first time…

Michelle and Sergio were married at the beautiful Corpus Christi Church in Baltimore.

Can I tell you how much I loved the groom’s and groomsmen’s cufflinks??  Each personalized.

Sergio had a bride and groom, of course.  And how fun is the Playstation controller?!

We headed to Cylburn Arboretum for portraits.  This place is a little gem in Baltimore, and the fall colors were so lovely…

Oh, Michelle….staaaaap it!!

Their reception was held at the impressive Scottish Rite Temple in Baltimore.  And the breeze?  It blew in at the perfect time for Michelle’s veil in this portrait!

After Michelle and Sergio’s first dance, they broke out into a fast-paced traditional Portuguese dance.  Michelle, being a semi-pro dancer, moved effortlessly around the dance floor.  And Sergio?  He knows how to hold his own.  This pair, along with their family and friends, tore up the dance floor all evening long, thanks to the energy and music provided by Duo Rotacao.

Michelle and Sergio, thank you for allowing me to be a witness to your traditions and the special bond you share with your families – it was an honor to be there with you!
